Army Ladies, Hasaacas set for WPL Southern Zone title showdown on Sunday

The 2025/26 Women’s Premier League Southern Zone title will be decided on Sunday as Army Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies battle for top spot in a dramatic final round of fixtures.

Just one point separates the two sides heading into the final day matches, with Hasaacas Ladies leading the standings on 37 points and Army Ladies close behind in second.

The outcome of their respective games will determine who clinches the Southern Zone crown and advances to the playoff final.

Army Ladies face relegated Soccer Intellectuals at Senya, knowing that only a win will keep their title hopes alive.

Even then, they must rely on a slip from Hasaacas to secure a historic first league title. Despite their opponents’ relegation, Army are expected to approach the fixture with caution given the high stakes.

League leaders Hasaacas Ladies travel to Samreboi to take on Samartex Ladies in what promises to be a decisive Western derby encounter at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena. A victory for Hasaacas will confirm them as Southern Zone champions regardless of Army’s result.

The title race remains finely poised after Hasaacas were held to a 1-1 draw by title holders Police Ladies in their previous outing, while Army Ladies continued to keep pace. Samartex, meanwhile, will be aiming to end their campaign strongly after a recent defeat to Oak FC.

The Southern Zone winner will face Ampem Darkoa Ladies, who have already secured the Northern Zone title, in the playoff final to determine the national champion.
