Bashir Hayford worried as Heart of Lions’ slump deepens ahead of Vision FC clash

Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has admitted concern over his side’s recent slump, describing their three-game winless run as a major "worry" ahead of their crucial home encounter against Vision FC.

The Kpando-based side has endured a difficult stretch in the Ghana Premier League, securing just one victory in their last seven outings.

This poor run of form has seen the Lions slide down the league standings, putting immense pressure on the veteran coach to arrest the slide before the season enters its final straight.

Speaking ahead of the Matchday 28 fixture at the Kpando Stadium, Hayford pointed to wastefulness in front of goal as the primary reason for their struggles.

Despite dominating recent games and creating numerous scoring opportunities, the clinical edge has been missing.

“It’s a worry. In the last three matches, we have created a lot of chances, and finishing has been a problem that we are deliberating on. So we are still working on it,” Hayford stated.

The Lions currently sit 13th with 34 points, just one point behind their upcoming opponents, Vision FC.

With the relegation scrap tightening, Hayford knows that finding a solution to the team’s scoring drought is no longer just a tactical goal, but a necessity to ensure survival and climb back into the mid-table spots.
