Asamoah Gyan shows coaching credentials during club training session
· GhanaSoccernetFormer Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan offered a glimpse into his coaching ambitions after stepping in to guide a training session at Greater Accra Division 2 side Great Somas FC.
The former Sunderland AFC and Al Ain FC striker, who holds a UEFA B coaching licence, briefly interrupted the session to make tactical and technical adjustments.
It was after he had been granted permission to supervise the team’s regimen at the Accra Academy School Park.
Footage of the moment was shared on social media by Sammy Anim Addo, owner of the club and Gyan’s long-time manager, signalling growing anticipation around the 39-year-old’s transition into coaching.
Posting on X, Anim Addo wrote: “My coach, your coach, our coach @ASAMOAH_GYAN3 just started. The world can’t wait. Save this message and come back to me when he hits the road running… just watch this space.”
Gyan, Ghana’s all-time leading scorer, appears to be taking early steps toward a career on the touchline as he looks to build on his decorated playing legacy.
