2025/26 Ghana Premier League: Week 30 Match Preview- FC Samartex vs Basake Holy Stars

· GhanaSoccernet

FC Samartex will welcome Basake Holy Stars at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday, May 3, after a week of inactivity across the various match venues.

The league returns after a week break following the unfortunate passing of young midfielder Dominic Frimpong, who played for Berekum Chelsea on loan from Aduana Stars. The midfielder was killed after a robbery attack on the team's bus after Chelsea's match with Samartex.

All teams are expected to observe a minute silence for the 20-year-old, who has since been buried.

Although, the player was not a member of either teams, both sides will remember him, especially Samartex where he made his last appearance.

Samartex will head into the match on Sunday hoping to honour the memory of the player with victory against a tricky Basake Holy Stars side.

The home side look to have rediscovered their form, with back-to-back wins in their last two games and just a defeat in their last five matches.

Meanwhile, Holy Stars are all but out of the relegation dogfight after a terrific run of form, winning two and drawing two of their last five matches to go 10th on the table.

Holy Stars' chances of making a top four place now seems a possibility as they sit only five points behind fourth-place Aduana Stars.

While Samartex also have a chance to usurp Aduana, they have to first beat Holy Stars at home.

This will be the fourth meeting in the Ghana Premier League between the two sides, Holy Stars have won two of their previous meetings.

The former champions will count on experienced stars Kofi Agbesimah and Charles Boateng with Mohammed Alhassan Mankuyeli leading the attack.

Holy Stars will depend on Prince Tweneboah and Sylvester Simba to deliver the goods.
