2025/26 Ghana Premier League: Week 30 Match Report– Hearts of Oak 0-0 Karela United
· GhanaSoccernetHearts of Oak were held to a goalless draw by Karela United in their Ghana Premier League clash at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
The Phobians dominated large spells of the encounter and created the better opportunities, but were unable to find a way past Karela goalkeeper Daniel Afadzwu, who delivered an impressive performance.
Hearts nearly took an early lead when Mawuli Wayo fired from close range, but Afadzwu reacted sharply to parry the effort away.
The hosts continued to threaten and came close again in the 30th minute after a well-struck free-kick was saved by the Karela goalkeeper before Wayo’s rebound was cleared off danger by the visitors’ defence.
Karela also showed glimpses of danger on the counterattack. Felix Mortu nearly caught Hearts off guard after spotting goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi off his line, but his long-range attempt drifted narrowly wide of the post.
The visitors were forced to deal with an injury setback in the first half when Awal Alhassan required medical attention following a strong challenge.
Afadzwu remained key for Karela and later produced an excellent one-on-one save to deny Hearts a late breakthrough.
The result keeps Hearts of Oak in third place ahead of their trip to Aduana Stars this weekend, while Karela United remain seventh and will next face Vision FC.
