Visions FC assistant coach Wilson Asare wary of ‘underdogs’ Swedru All Blacks ahead of league clash

Assistant coach of Vision FC, Wilson Asare, says his side is fully prepared but remains cautious ahead of their crucial Ghana Premier League clash against relegation-threatened Swedru All Blacks.

The Eewo family will play host to the Swedru-based outfit at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon in matchday 30 of the Ghanaian top-flight.

Speaking to the club’s media, Asare emphasized the value of the short break, noting that it has given the team an important opportunity to fine-tune their preparations and sharpen their focus as they look to finish the campaign on a strong note.

“We had a long break, and we made the most of it by getting the team back into shape. Since training resumed, the players have looked fresh and have responded positively, both on and off the pitch. From what we’ve seen, the break has been beneficial for us,” he said.

Despite Vision FC’s relatively stronger position on the league table and the advantage of playing at home, Asare is not underestimating their opponents, who are fighting to avoid relegation.

“Looking at the table, they are below us and we are playing at home, so on paper they may be seen as underdogs. But football doesn’t always follow the script. Teams in that position can be very dangerous—they come with urgency and can make things difficult for you,” he cautioned.

Currently, Vision FC sits 12th position with 38 points after 29 matches into the domestic top-flight campaign. With five games remaining in the 2025/26 campaign, the Tema-based outfit will be hoping to amass points to finish at a respectable position.
