Carlos Queiroz salary below $100,000 - Kofi Adams
· GhanaSoccernetMinister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has sought to draw a line under mounting speculation surrounding the remuneration of new Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz, insisting the widely reported $100,000 monthly figure is inaccurate.
In recent days, reports had suggested the Ghana Football Association had tabled a lucrative offer to secure the services of the experienced Portuguese tactician.
However, the minister has firmly dismissed those claims, signalling a more modest financial commitment as the national team begins a new chapter under Queiroz.
“We are not paying him $100,000. We are not paying him up to that amount at all,” Kofi Adams told Asempa FM.
“I will check the figures, because we have not finalised and signed the full contract and everything, so I cannot give the exact figure, but it's not up $100,000,” he added.
Queiroz, who arrived in Ghana on April 22, was officially unveiled the following day as he stepped up preparations for the World Cup.
He has since started a European tour and met captain Jordan Ayew and deputy Thomas Partey.
