Napoli are considering a move for Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku as they prepare for a busy January transfer window aimed at strengthening their squad for the second half of the season.

Antonio Conte’s side have struggled to maintain momentum in their title defence after a run of injuries disrupted their plans, particularly in attacking areas. With options limited out wide, the Italian champions have identified Fatawu as a player who could inject pace, creativity, and balance into their frontline.

The 21-year-old has been one of Leicester City’s most reliable performers since joining the club from Sporting Lisbon in 2023. Despite Leicester enduring a difficult campaign, Fatawu stood out with his energy and end product before suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury that brought his season to an early end.

In his debut season in England, the Ghana international recorded seven goals and 13 assists across all competitions, underlining his growing influence in the final third. He carried that form into the current season, contributing four goals and six assists in 21 appearances, putting him on course to surpass last year’s figures before his injury setback.

Fatawu is most effective on the right wing but is comfortable on the left and can also operate as an attacking midfielder. His pace, direct running, and ability to take on defenders make him a constant threat in one-on-one situations, attributes that fit well with Conte’s demand for intensity and width.

Leicester are understood to value the winger at around 25 million euros, slightly above his estimated 20 million euros market value. Should Napoli press ahead with the deal, their total outlay could rise further when wages and contract terms are factored in.
