DEXTER: RESURRECTION Season 2 Trailer Pits Dexter Against Brian Cox and Dan Stevens

by · GeekTyrant

Dexter Morgan has spent most of his life hunting killers, but Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrectionis about to seriously crowd his hunting ground.

The official trailer has arrived, and New York is crawling with serial killers. Michael C. Hall is back as Dexter, who now finds himself dealing with two very different murderers, his increasingly complicated relationship with Harrison, and perhaps the most terrifying threat of all… a midlife crisis.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 premieres October 30 on Paramount+, and the big additions this time around are Brian Cox and Dan Stevens.

Cox plays Don Frampt, better known as the New York Ripper, an infamous serial killer who terrorized the city years ago. He comes into the story carrying decades of notoriety and a long history of murder, which makes him exactly the kind of monster who would get Dexter's attention.

Stevens is playing Owen Stark, the Five Borough Killer, a younger murderer currently tearing his way through New York. While Frampt represents an older generation of killer with a reputation already carved into the city's history, Stark is something new, unpredictable, and actively building his body count.

Putting Dexter between Brian Cox and Dan Stevens as competing flavors of psychopath sounds like a great way to kick off another season.

Showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips is positioning Season 2 around Dexter being caught between these two killers while dealing with his own personal crisis. His son Harrison, played by Jack Alcott, is also continuing his pursuit of justice, pulling father and son further into what is being described as their darkest chapter yet.

The killing apparently doesn't stop with Frampt and Stark, either. Gabriel Luna joins the series as Ray Ballard, another serial killer known as the Sleepy-Eyed Stranger. That gives Season 2 three major killers running around.

Krysten Ritter is also returning as Mia LaPierre, aka Lady Vengeance, although exactly how she's coming back remains a mystery. There's already speculation that Mia could somehow still be alive, while another possibility is that she'll return as one of the ghosts that have always haunted Dexter's head. Either option gives Ritter another shot at playing in Dexter's bloody little sandbox.

Desmond Harrington will have a much larger presence as well. After briefly appearing in the first season of Dexter: Resurrection, Harrington has been promoted to series regular, meaning Joey Quinn is back in a big way.

Season 2 also adds Bokeem Woodbine as Capt. Mixon and Nona Parker Johnson as Fiona Mixon. Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and James Remar are returning.

The first season successfully found a way to drag Dexter Morgan back into the land of the living and make his return feel worthwhile. Season 2 appears ready to throw him into an even nastier situation, with multiple killers operating around him while his own life continues getting harder to control.
