2026 Ballon d’Or: Winner set to be decided as voting ends

Voting for the 2026 Ballon d’Or will close today (Monday).

For the men’s award, an international jury of selected journalists from the top 100 countries in the FIFA rankings will decide the winner.

Some of the frontrunners include Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid) and Rodri (Barcelona).

The women’s award will be voted on by a jury of 50 specialised journalists from the top 50 FIFA-ranked nations.

The players considered favourites to win the category include Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw of Manchester City and Alexia Putellas, who has left Barcelona for London City Lionesses.

This year’s Ballon d’Or ceremony will be held in London, UK, on October 26.

Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembele and Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmati are the current holders.
