NPFL: Rangers edge Nasarawa United in Owerri

Defending champions, Rangers recorded their first win of the season, edging past Nasarawa United 2-1 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Friday morning.

The rescheduled match day three encounter was halted in the 63rd minute on Thursday due to heavy downpour at the venue.

Play, however, resumed Friday morning with Rangers picking maximum points.

Nasarawa United took the lead through Sunday Dapman in the 39th minute.

Rangers Fight Back

The hosts rallied immediately with Chidozie Iwundu netting the equaliser two minutes later.

Daniel Itodo scored the winning goal for Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side eight minutes from time.

Rangers moved to eighth position in the table with four points from two matches.

Nasarawa United dropped to 14th position with three points from three games.
