Messi closes in on record for most free-kick goals in history [Top 5]

Inter Miami captain, Lionel Messi, is now two free-kick goals away from equalling the record set by Marcelinho Carioca.

Messi scored his 76th goal from a free-kick as the MLS side lost 2-1 to Columbus Crew on Sunday.

The 39-year-old has now scored four free kick goals in the last seven games with the club.

He is two goals away from matching Marcelino Carioca’s record of 78 career free-kick goals.
