Transfer: Nigerian defender signs for Swiss club, FC Basel

Nigerian defender, Akpe Victory has sealed a move to Swiss club, FC Basel, DAILY POST reports.

Victory, who  joined FC Basel from Hungarian outfit, Zalaegerszeg, signed a four-year contract.

The 19-year-old has been assigned jersey number 55 by his new club.

FC Basel beat Rangers, Benfica, and Strasbourg to his signature.

Victory only joined Zalaegerszeg Lithuanian club FK Banga Gargždai in January.

The centre-back is now the fourth Nigerian to play for the former Swiss champions following in the footsteps of Gabriel Okolosi, Ike Shorunmu, and Philip Otele.
