Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has revealed what he told star striker, Erling Haaland after the Cityzens’ Premier League 3-2 win over Leeds United on Saturday.

Guardiola appeared to have a tense conversation with Haaland on the pitch after Man City defeated Leeds at the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland repeatedly tried to walk away from the conversation but Guardiola was determined to get his point across him.

The Norway international failed to score as a brace from Phil Foden and a goal from Josko Gvardiol gave Guardiola’s side the victory against the visitors.

Haaland, who is on track to become the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League goals, has scored 19 goals in 18 matches this season for City.

Asked at his post-match interview what he told Haaland, Guardiola said via BBC Sport: “He will do it [get his 100th goal] next game.

“Just we talk about rest. He has a huge body. Minutes, minutes, in that moment you are fresh.

“Rest [is] not just the legs [pointing to his head]. It’s not like Phil or Jeremy [Doku], they can rest. Erling is a big man. We need him so much.”
