AFCON 2025: Seven teams qualify for Round of 16

At least seven countries have now confirmed their places in the last 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Tunisia became the latest team to progress to the next round following their 1–1 draw with Tanzania in their final Group C fixture on Tuesday evening.

The Carthage Eagles had thrashed Uganda 2–0 in their opening match before narrowly losing 3–2 to Nigeria in their second game.

Against the Cranes, Ismael Gharbi gave Tunisia the lead from the penalty spot just before the break.
However, Tanzania drew level three minutes after the restart through Feisal Salum.

The draw means Tunisia will finish as runners-up behind Nigeria.

They will join other teams such as Algeria, South Africa, Morocco, Egypt and Mali in the next round.
