Pac-Man & Game Freak’s first ever game join NES library on Switch Online
by Stefan L · tsaNintendo has dug up another batch of games for the NES library on Nintendo Switch Online, teaming up with Bandai Namco for some Namco classics, including Pac-Man and Game freak’s very first game.
Pac-Man is, obviously, the absolute classic arcade sensation in its home console rendition. You know him, you love him and his pill-popping, ghost avoiding/eating antics, and… yeah. It’s Pac-Man!
The other two titles could easily be completely new to you. Mendel Palace was Game Freak’s first title, an action game where Bon-Bon has to try and save his best friend Candy, needing to outsmart and overpower Candy’s evil dolls to do so by flipping floor panels, pushing them into walls, and more.
Finally, The Tower of Druaga was a Japan-only action RPG in which you have to battle through a tower of mazes, clearing each level, grabbing the key and making it up one floor higher. In classic retro game shenanigans, some enemies will be able to kill you instantly, as will fire, and there’s also a race against the timer. It was conceived as a “fantasy Pac-Man”, and you can definitely tell from the gameplay pitch.
