Water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 113.50 feet (permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 493 cusecs and a discharge of 105 cusecs. The level in Vaigai dam was 56.50 ft. (the maximum level is 71 ft.) with an inflow of 238 cusecs and a discharge of 72 cusecs. The combined storage in Periyar credit was 2,073.54 mcft.

Rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Sunday was (in mm):  Madurai 23.2, Viraganur 15.2, Kuppanampatti 15, Shanmuganadhi dam 8.6, Manjalar dam 7, Sothupparai dam 6, Gudalur 2.8, Kallandiri 2, Kodaikanal 1.6, Marudhanadhi dam 1.2, Thekkadi 0.4 and Mullaperiyar dam 0.2.
