Boxing fans could not watch Netflix

Netflix stream crashes during Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul with fans furious

by · Manchester Evening News

Boxing enthusiasts were left disgruntled as Netflix encountered difficulties streaming the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul boxing match. The streaming behemoth was making its first foray into live combat sports, but viewers had trouble watching the undercard before the main event.

A multitude of complaints flooded social media, with issues ranging from buffering to a total service crash. One viewer expressed: "If Netflix doesn't fix this buffering issue, this will go down as one of the biggest fails in all of tv/streaming history. Another added: " Another added: "First time I've sat down to watch boxing on forever and Netflix keeps freezing up and buffering...."

A user queried: "Is Netflix down for everybody? ? ? ? Literally my stuff will not load."

Another frustrated viewer asked: "Hey, is anyone else having server and bandwidth issues with Netflix? Pixels have ramped down to 1995 TV level and it keeps buffering..." Another exclaimed: "Netflix has crashed! We have been buffering at 25 per cent for 10 minutes and now frozen. It's not my network. We are pushing 250 mbs."

Other comments included: "Mine just stopped. Not having high hopes for seeing the main bout" and "Hundred thousand people watching this are having the exact same problem".

Netflix announced their unexpected venture into the boxing industry in March when Tyson's fight with Paul was initially disclosed.

Tyson experienced a setback when he was forced to delay their match by four months due to an inflamed ulcer encountered on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. The collapse of the former undisputed heavyweight world champion in the aircraft lavatory, where he began spitting blood, caused serious concern.

However, Tyson recovered from his health scare and rearranged his anticipated comeback fight - marking his first battle in four years and first professional stint in nearly two decades - facing off against YouTuber Paul later this evening. Despite being 31 years the elder, Tyson has persuaded both fans and experts that he's capable of turning back the clock for a vintage performance.

Technical difficulties also marred Netflix’s broadcast earlier when Evander Holyfield found himself unable to hear the queries posed by host Kate Scott, prompting her to express regret: "Evander, I apologise," she said. "I'm so sorry about the sound. Lennox, thank you for helping us out with the interview. We appreciate you. Good to see you tonight. Good to see both of you champions with us tonight."
