Terry Bradshaw's Kansas City Chiefs gaffe has FOX NFL Sunday co-star intervene

Terry Bradshaw was left red-faced after an embarrassing blunder on FOX NFL Sunday, with co-host Michael Strahan forced to correct the Pro Football Hall of Famer

Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback and NFL pundit Terry Bradshaw tried to laugh off a blunder after incorrectly stating the Kansas City Chiefs' record against the Buffalo Bills.

His FOX NFL Sunday co-host Michael Strahan was quick to spot the mistake and point it out live on the air, though.

In a segment discussing the Chiefs' first defeat of the season to the Bills last week, Bradshaw was questioned by host Curt Menafee about his concerns for Kansas City's chances of a Super Bowl hat-trick. "No, not at all. Absolutely not," Bradshaw declared with assurance.

"The 1972 Dolphins, they're excited that Kansas City lost. But Kansas City always loses to Buffalo. That's no shocker. They're 4-1 against Buffalo."

There was a momentary silence on set as they chose not to interrupt his commentary. He mistakenly gave the Chiefs a winning record over the Bills with Patrick Mahomes as quarterback, which completely contradicted his point about Buffalo's supremacy in the emerging rivalry.

Strahan was fully engaged and ready to jump in with a correction. "You said they always lose to Buffalo but then said 4-1. That's winning," he playfully pointed out. Terry Bradshaw acknowledged his slip-up but tried to cover it up with a bit of humour: "I did say it. I just didn't speak it." The minor blunder elicited a round of gentle chuckles before the show smoothly moved on to the upcoming feature.

As the panel brushed off the humorous incident, the focus shifted to co-host Jay Glazer, who introduced his 'Inside Scoop'. But Bradshaw kept explaining himself. Glazer eventually steered the conversation back to more serious football talk, providing the latest on injuries which included San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy's shoulder issue.

Bradshaw is known for his entertaining take on NFL discussion; he often brings a light-hearted approach to sportscasting, especially when paired with Strahan. Earlier in the season, Strahan was honoured by his alma mater, Texas Southern University, with an induction into their Hall of Fame.

Known as one of the great historically Black colleges, TSU gave Strahan two SWAC Defensive Player of the Year awards during his time there. Bradshaw quipped he too had been celebrated by the institution, much to the amusement of Strahan. "We would have known. You would have stood out," the New York Giants icon responded, poking fun at the idea.

During another show, Bradshaw left his co-hosts gobsmacked when he linked the New Orleans Saints' seven-game losing streak to something quite supernatural — voodoo. "I called, and I said listen, down in Louisiana, where the tall pine trees grow, lives a voodoo lady named Marie Laveau," he claimed.

Further sharing an elaborate tale about calling up this mystic figure, Bradshaw stated, "I called Marie Laveau. She took her pot. She went into the Saints. They put all that potion in there."

Menafee couldn't resist interrupting, poking fun at what might be in Bradshaw's drink.
