Arne Slot responds to Nottingham Forest fans' songs about him after Liverpool draw

by Matthew Cooper · The MirrorLiverpool boss Arne Slot has responded after he was taunted by Nottingham Forest fans during their 1-1 draw on Tuesday.
Forest are the only team who have beaten Liverpool in the Premier League this season, picking up a 1-0 win over the Reds at Anfield back in September, they took an early lead in the return fixture through Chris Wood.
And Forest fans serenaded Slot with chants of "Arne Slot, it's happening again" and "We're in your head, in your head, Arne Arne Arne-Ne-Ne", with the latter sung to the tune of the Cranberries' 1994 song, 'Zombie.'
Slot was also branded a "w*****" by sections of the City Ground and when asked about the chants in his post-match press conference, the Dutchman replied: "I thought they just liked the style of play my team had!"
Despite Wood's early goal, Liverpool equalised through substitute Diogo Jota to earn a point and Slot admitted that he views Forest as genuine title contenders with just six points separating the two teams.
"I said already before the game that after 20 games you can judge the table much better than in the first five, six, seven, eight, nine or 10 games and if you are right up there with us and the other teams… and I don't think they are here because of luck," he said.
"It is for every team very hard and difficult to play against them. They've already had a few difficult away games, with [Manchester] United away, [Manchester] City away, with Arsenal away, us away, playing us already twice.
"So, that shows you that they are a team that can compete for the top end of the league table. I also think, but you have to tell me if I am right, that they have had most of their players available until now for the whole season so I see almost the same line-up, and that is a quality for the coaching staff that they have as well.
"But if they can keep bringing the same players on the pitch I see no reason for them to drop a lot of points. The playing style suits the players really well and I think this is what is the job of every manager: to try to find a playing style that suits your players."
Liverpool will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they travel to Brentford on Saturday, before resuming their Champions League campaign with a clash against Lille at Anfield on Tuesday.
