Tottenham predicted team vs Roma - Postecoglou makes six changes with midfielder given big chance

Here's the Tottenham Hotspur team that we reckon Ange Postecoglou will select to face Roma in the Europa League on Thursday night

Ange Postecoglou has plenty of unavailable players as Tottenham host Roma in the Europa League on Thursday evening but he still has some decisions to make with his team.

Spurs welcome Claudio Ranieri's side knowing that a victory would put them in a strong position in the big Europa League table to ensure a top eight finish and the chance to head straight into the knockout stages and avoid the extra play-off legs early next year.

Postecoglou will have to do so without a string of big players. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario joins a list of unavailable players that includes Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Richarlison, Wilson Odobert and Mikey Moore, as well as the suspended Will Lankshear, while Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon are not registered to play in the Europa League.

Rodrigo Bentancur is available though as his seven-match ban is only for domestic matches which leaves him available to play against Roma this week and then Rangers in a fortnight's time. Postecoglou has other options which he could bring in, including Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Timo Werner while Fraser Forster could start in order to start building up his sharpness and rhythm as he replaces Vicario in the months ahead.

Here's the team we reckon Postecoglou will select to take on the visitors from Serie A.

Goalkeeper - Fraser Forster

Right-back - Archie Gray

Gray is likely to replace either Porro or Udogie and the Spaniard has been on the bench for each of Spurs' home Europa League games so far. It could even be that the two first choice full-backs get a half each.(Image: (Photo by Sebastian Frej/MB Media/Getty Images))

Centre-back - Radu Dragusin

Centre-back - Ben Davies

Left-back - Destiny Udogie

The Italian picked up a knock against City but Postecoglou told football.london that he was fit and fine to play this game. He played fewer minutes than Porro over the international break overall.

Central midfield - Lucas Bergvall

A big chance for the 18-year-old to impress after a difficult night in Turkey. He played his part in the fourth goal at City, although Postecoglou might be wary of a right flank with two teenagers down it so it will be interesting to see what side he plays on.(Image: Visionhaus/Getty Images)

Central midfield - Rodrigo Bentancur

Central midfield - James Maddison

Full of confidence after his two-goal performance against City and he needs to keep that going.

Right wing - Brennan Johnson

Centre forward - Dominic Solanke

Postecoglou could choose between Solanke and Son up top and it might be that the captain gets the rest on this occasion to come on later in the game.

Left wing - Timo Werner
