Latest injury and availability news ahead of Arsenal's next Premier League fixture against Everton with 13 players potentially sidelined

Arsenal face their next Premier League test at Everton, hoping to secure themselves at the top of the table by the time Christmas Day rolls around.

This weekend will be the final round of fixtures before the festive period and if the Gunners do remain leaders of the pack, it puts them in a typically good position to go on and win the title come May. In 11 of the last 16 seasons, the team top at Christmas have become champions.

Only a positive result against Everton will ensure that - something that has often eluded Mikel Arteta in his time as Arsenal manager.

The Spaniard has lost to his former club three times in fixtures on Merseyside. However, they took place at Goodison Park, and now the Gunners have a new challenge of conquering a new venue - Everton's brand new Hill Dickinson Stadium.

If they are to do it, they are set to be without several key players in defence. That said, it is not only Arteta juggling his available players, as David Moyes also faces a selection crisis this December.

With that, football.london examines up to 13 stars who could miss this weekend's Premier League clash.

Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz has been sidelined since August with a knee injury sustained during the opening game of the season.
While he is reportedly nearing a return and targeting an appearance before the end of the year, Arteta has emphasised the need for careful management, and he is not expected to be fit for the Everton match.

Gabriel Magalhaes

The Brazilian defender is currently recovering from a thigh/abductor injury picked up during the November international break.
Arteta noted that while Gabriel Magalhaes is progressing well, the Everton game comes too soon. Reports suggest he is instead aiming for a return against Aston Villa later this month.

Ben White

Ben White suffered a hamstring injury last weekend Arsenal's recent 2-1 win over Wolves.
Mikel Arteta expressed concern following the match, meaning the defender could likely missing the entire festive period.

Riccardo Calafiori

Riccardo Calafiori was seen limping after the recent defeat to Aston Villa but has since returned to training. It will be a late call whether the defender returns for the trip to Merseyside.

Cristhian Mosquera

The summer signing is facing a minimum of six weeks out due to an ankle injury suffered against Brentford. Arteta described the injury as "complicated," and the defender is not expected to return to action until late January or February 2026.

Max Dowman

Dowman, 15, starlet sustained an ankle problem during a behind-closed-doors friendly for the Under-21s. Arteta confirmed that the youngster will be out for "weeks," ruling him out of any potential first-team involvement this weekend.

Iliman Ndiaye

Iliman Ndiaye has scored four and assisted twice for Everton this season as one of their standout performers.
However, they will be without him against Arsenal and for a number of weeks due to the player's involvement with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Idrissa Gueye

Idrissa Gueye will also depart Everton to take part in AFCON, also playing for Senegal, over the coming weeks and will therefore be absent against the Gunners.

Jack Grealish

Jack Grealish felt his hamstring late in last weekend's match against Chelsea.
Moyes stated, "Jack felt his hamstring so we just need to be careful," and while he hasn't been definitively ruled out, he remains a major doubt for the weekend.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

The midfielder also suffered a hamstring strain in the game against Chelsea. Moyes admitted the player had felt "tightness" before the match, and he is expected to miss several upcoming fixtures, including Arsenal, while awaiting further scan results.

Seamus Coleman

Toffees captain Seamus Coleman is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury. He is expected to remain out of action until late January 2025, leaving Moyes to find alternative solutions at full-back.

Jarrad Branthwaite

Branthwaite is still recovering from a long-term thigh issue and subsequent surgery - one which has ruled him out of the entire season so far.
Although David Moyes confirmed he is "back on the grass" and doing light work, he is not yet match-ready and is expected to remain out until early next year.

Merlin Rohl

Everton summer signing Merlin Röhl underwent a hernia operation in November.
Moyes recently shared that he is "much further on" in his recovery than Branthwaite and is back in training, but the Arsenal game is likely a week too early for a competitive return.
