How to vote for the next playable character in Deadlock - Old Gods, New Blood

The six characters revealed in Deadlock's Old Gods, New Blood update will be released based on player votes. Here's how to vote.

The Old Gods, New Blood update for Deadlock brought quite an interesting wrinkle with it. While there are six characters set to come to the game two at a time per week starting on January 26, the order in which those characters release is in our hands. Players will vote to decide which characters launch up front, deciding the overall launch schedule of the group over the next few weeks. Here’s how to do it.

How to vote for the next playable character in Deadlock

The voting table for Deadlock's Old Gods, New Blood update can be found in the Hideout, right next to the Atrium Practice Range.

In order to vote for which of the characters will launch first in Deadlock, you have to play the game. Sorry, no voting from the outside. When you play a standard match or 4v4 Street Brawl, you’ll earn a vote. When you get your First Win of the Day bonus, you’ll get four additional votes as well.

Then, you take those votes back to the Hideout in-game and locate your preferred character’s vote box. Confirm your vote for that character, and that’s it, you’re locked in.
TLDR:

  • Log into the game.
  • Play a Standard Match or 4v4 Street Brawl
  • Collect a Vote post-match (First Win of the Day Bonus gives 4 additional votes)
  • In your hideout, locate the table with the floating “Vote” text
  • Cast your votes
On the voting screen, you can cast your votes for which new Deadlock characters you want to unlock first ahead of the first release on January 26.

There doesn’t seem to be a limit on voting outside of your available time to play. You have to finish a match to get a vote, so just queuing up won’t cut it (and you’re a bad person if you quit out anyways). Nonetheless, our gameplay will determine the order of characters released. The possible characters are as follows:

  • Silver: “FERAL. HOT MESS. TRANSFORMATION.” She’s a wild character that can change into a werewolf.
  • Rem: “HELPFUL. TINY. ZZZ.” A half-pint mouse-like character with powers related to sleep.
  • Graves: “MORBID. AREA DENIAL. NECROMANCER.” A classy girl wielding the magic of the dead to restrict the playing field.
  • Apollo: “FINESSE. MOBILITY. A CUT ABOVE.” He’s a dashing demon fencer that will be hard to pin down.
  • Celeste: “PERFORMER. DISRUPTIVE. DAZZLING.” A unicorn-horned woman who will disorient opponents with dazzling power.
  • Venator: “DEVOUT. ARMS EXPERT. TACTICAL.” A priest with a penchant for firearms. He has several large weapons in hand.
