ARC Raiders will test a PvE toggle in October

A long-requested feature may finally be coming to ARC Raiders.

As Embark Studios continues to tweak the ARC Raiders experience, the company will soon test a highly-requested feature in the extraction shooter. The option to play strictly PvE will be available for a limited time in October as Embark experiments with the Arc Raiders formula.

Embark Studios shared details in a new blog post. The PvE test will run from October 13-20 and will add a PvE toggle that players can use to queue into PvE matches. When PvE is enabled, Raiders will not be able to damage each other. However, they will still see other Raiders during their exploration, and can work cooperatively with them to take down threats and collect loot.

“The intent here is not to test how we can make PvE more challenging or to try new PvE progression, rather it is an attempt to give players an alternative to PvP encounters,” wrote Embark Studios in the blog post.

Embark Studios also shared that since the launch of ARC Raiders, there has been a steady growth in friendly co-op players. Following the test, Embark will use player feedback and collected data to determine how to move forward.
