How save transfer works in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered

It’s a seamless process to bring your Witcher 3 playthrough over to the remaster.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered brings a heap of visual upgrades and gameplay changes to the 2015 RPG. However, players won’t be required to start a new playthrough from scratch if they don’t want to. It’s pretty simple to transfer your save from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered.

How save transfer works in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will automatically transfer your save file from the base game as long as you are signed into the same CD Projekt RED account or platform in which you previously played the game. From the main menu, you should see the word “Remastered” beneath the game’s title. The same will be present on the pause screen in game.

When you select the “Load” option from the main menu, you should see all of your existing saves from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

When you load into a save, you’ll be prompted to reassign your skill points, as the remaster completely reworks the skill system. This can be done by pausing the game and opening the Character menu.
