Miri quintet to swim in SEA Age Group Championships
by cindy lai · Borneo Post OnlineMIRI (Nov 25): Five Miri swimmers will be in the Malaysia contingent to appear in the 46th Southeast Asia (SEA) Age Group Championships to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from Dec 6 to 8.
Hector Ho Rze Jun, Ethren Ethanael Lim Churn, Ryan Liaw Chee Heng, Seau Zhi Ping and Bong Rui Jie will be competing against swimmers from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The Aquatic Centre at the Assumption University Suvarnabhumi Campus will be the venue of the biennial regional meet organised by the South East Asia Swimming Federation (SEASF).
Malaysia will be represented by 138 swimmers from 11 state affiliates.
The five from Miri recently paid a courtesy call on Sarawak Minister of Transport and Senadin assemblyman Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin who handed over financial incentives. They were accompanied by officials from the Miri Amateur Swimming Association (Masa).
