Alabama A&M Bulldogs Look to Keep Winning Streak Alive Against Bowie State

Alabama A&M seems to be on a pretty good roll. The Bulldogs are on a two-game winning streak. The team hopes to continue its winning ways this week. AAMU (0-0, 2-1) will host Bowie State (0-0, 0-2) in the Hall of Fame Game on Saturday, Sept. 19 with a 6 p.m. kickoff.

The Bulldogs have been able to move the football with a great passing attack from quarterback Cornelious Brown IV and wide receiver Jarel Williams. who is off to a good start this season. Brown has completed 64 of 100 passes for 761 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions. Williams has 16 receptions for 279 yards and two TDs. He is the Bulldogs’ leading receiver.

There’s a good chance this passing combination with Brown and Williams could be a factor against Bowie State.

In other action in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, Alabama State (0-0, 2-1) will have a week off following its 34-17 loss to Troy University. ASU will return to action against Mississippi Valley State (0-0, 1-2) at home on Saturday, Sept. 26.

In the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Miles College (0-1, 0-3) is hoping to snap a three-game losing streak against Clark Atlanta (1-1, 1-2) on the road on Saturday, Sept. 19. The kickoff will be at 5 p.m.

The Golden Bears have a great player on defense with cornerback Antonio White, Jr., who leads the team in tackles. White has 22 total and 13 solo tackles. He ranks fourth in the conference in tackles.

Around the SIAC, Tuskegee University (1-0, 1-1) will visit Jackson State (0-0, 2-0) on Saturday, Sept. 19 for the W.C. Gorden Classic. The kickoff is set for 6 p.m.

The Golden Tigers are led by defensive lineman Masiah Wells, a terrific run stopper and playmaker. Wells has 14 total and six solo tackles this season.
