WWE star Dominik Mysterio reveals the vicious way he'd want to end his feud with legendary father

LAS VEGAS – Love him or hate him, Dominik Mysterio is one of the rising marquee stars on the WWE roster.

Mysterio, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, rose in popularity as a heel as he became a member of The Judgment Day faction. Since then, he’s been a two-time intercontinental champion and won the AAA Mega Championship.

He’s set to play a massive role in AAA’s Triplemania 34 as the event takes place across two days – Friday night in Las Vegas and Sunday night in Mexico City. First, he will be backing up Omos as the 7-foot-3 giant takes on Rey Mysterio in his quest to be restored to the AAA roster. El Grande Americano will be backing up Rey Mysterio in the match. Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano will then clash on Night 2 with the AAA Mega Championship on the line.

It’s another chapter in the feud between father and son. The Mysterios have grown apart since Dominik joined The Judgment Day. Dominik has described his father as a "deadbeat" as their paths have crossed over the years.

OutKick Dropkick asked Mysterio ahead of his Triplemania 34 involvement about how he would want his feud with his father to end.

"I think, for me, what would really, really do it is he would have to give up his mask," he said. "Claim me as Rey Mysterio, taking on the name, getting on his knees and apologizing and giving me the mask and retiring and leaving. That would be the perfect ending for me."

In Lucha Libre, an opponent taking the mask off of an opponent is a symbol of disrespect. Competitors have put their masks on the line to end bitter rivalries. One took place earlier this year between El Grande Americano and Original El Grande Americano.

It’s unclear if it would ever come to that. Rey Mysterio appears to be on top of his game – even at 51 years old. He’s also the AAA general manager and it doesn’t appear he will be ready to give up any of that any time soon.

Triplemania 34 Night 1 will begin at 10 p.m. ET at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It will be broadcast on YouTube.
