‘Haha, You Clowns’ Renewed For Season 2 and Season 3 at Adult Swim

by · Variety

Adult Swim has given a two-season renewal to Joe Cappa’s animated series “Haha, You Clowns,” which will return for a Season 2 and Season 3.

“It’s amazing that Joe and the team made something as radically heartfelt and strangely uncanny as ‘Haha, You Clowns,’” said Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim. “But what’s even more amazing is that – in this cynical, uncertain time – all of you showed up for this new show, championed for it on social media, and grew it week over week so we could greenlight not one, but two more seasons. In the words of the show: ‘You are strong! You are loved!’”

Adult Swim first unveiled “Haha, You Clowns” during its Annecy panel back in 2024. The series’ offcial logline reads, “A widowed father and his three teenage sons share heartwarming moments while dealing with loss. Together, they find joy, growth, and their mom’s spirit in daily life’s ups and downs.”

Creator Cappa first rose to prominence on YouTube, producing multimedia comedy shorts. His 2021 animated short “Ghost Dogs” was a 2021 Sundance Festival Official Selection and the Satoshi Kon Award winner at Fantasia.

“I’m so grateful to the fans of the show who gave ‘Haha, You Clowns’ a chance and spread the word,” Cappa said. “I’m incredibly thrilled I get to hang out at the Campbell household for a little longer.”

“Haha, You Clowns,” is currently airing its first season. The season finale premieres on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 11:45 p.m. ET/PT.

“Haha, You Clowns” is produced by Williams Street, Adult Swim’s in-house production banner.
