‘Last of Us’ Season 3 Casts Jason Ritter and Patrick Wilson, Promotes Three Cast Members to Series Regulars
by Joe Otterson · Variety“The Last of Us” Season 3 has cast both Jason Ritter and Patrick Wilson in recurring roles, Variety has confirmed.
In addition, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, and Spencer Lord have all been promoted to series regular status for the show’s third season. The trio first joined the show in Season 2 in the roles of Mel, Nora and Owen respectively.
Ritter will play Hanley, who is described as a WLF soldier. Wilson, meanwhile, will play Jerry, father to main character Abby (Kaitlyn Dever).

These are the latest new additions to the cast of Season 3, with previously announced new cast members Clea Duvall and Jorge Lendeborg Jr., with the latter taking over the role of Manny. Returning cast includes Dever, Bella Ramsey, Isabella Merced, Gabriel Luna, and Jeffrey Wright.
“The Last of Us” was renewed for a third season in 2025 ahead of the Season 2 premiere. Based on the hit video game franchise of the same name, the show takes place in a world decimated by a widespread fungal infection that has turned much of the population into zombie-esque creatures.
The series was co-created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, though it was previously revealed that Druckmann was exiting the show ahead of Season 3. Mazin will also be the sole showrunner for Season 3 in addition to writing and executive producing. The series is a co-production between HBO and Sony Pictures Television and is executive produced by Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells. PlayStation Productions, Word Games, Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog produce.
Wilson is repped by CAA, Anonymous Content, and Gretchen Rush. Ritter is repped by The Burstein Company and Gersh. Barer is repped by OPE Partners, Paradigm, ID and Felker Toczek.
