‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Sets Season 3 Release Date

Paramount+ has beamed up the premiere date for “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” Season 3.

The third season of the popular sci-fi series will debut with its first two episodes on July 17, followed by a new episode every Thursday until the season finale on Sept. 11. It was previously announced that the show has already been renewed for a fourth season, which is currently in production.

The official description of Season 3 states:”When we reconnect with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, still under the command of Captain Pike (Anson Mount), they face the conclusion of season two’s harrowing encounter with the Gorn. But new life and civilizations await, including a villain that will test our characters’ grit and resolve.”

Along with Mount, the series also stars Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun and Martin Quinn. Guest stars this season include Rhys Darby, Patton Oswalt, Cillian O’Sullivan, Melanie Scrofano and Carol Kane, plus special guest star Paul Wesley returning as Lt. James T. Kirk.

Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers serve as co-showrunners on “Strange New Worlds.” Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, Aaron Baiers, Dana Horgan, Davy Perez, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Chris Fisher, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers. The series is produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment.

“Strange New Worlds” is currently the only active “Star Trek” series on Paramount+, following the conclusion of “Star Trek: Discovery” and the animated series “Star Trek: Lower Decks.” Still on the way is “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy,” which does not yet have a premiere date. A second season of that show is already in the works.
