Bohemians to remain at Dalymount until May 2027
· RTE.ieAfter consultation with Dublin City Council, Bohemians' move away from Dalymount Park to facilitate the redevelopment of the venue will now not take place until May of next year, with the club keen to "absolutely minimise our time away" from the venue.
The end of the 2026 season was to see Bohemians vacate Dalymount to allow work begin on a new 8,000-seater stadium, which is due for completion in 2029. The project will see €25million come from government, while Dublin City Council have approved the borrowing of €34m.
A consequence of today's decision and the removal of floodlights at the ground later this year means that Bohemians will not be playing games on Friday nights for the first three months of 2027.
Details on exact kick-off days/times for both men's and women’s teams will be confirmed at a later date.
The club also reiterated that it does intend to be back at their Phibsboro home in 2029 and that the men's team will play at more than one venue while redevelopment work is ongoing.
A Bohemians FC statement read: "Following discussions between DCC and Bohemian FC it has been agreed that Bohemian FC will play at Dalymount Park until the end of May 2027.
"This change is at the request of Bohemian FC who wish to absolutely minimise our time away from Dalymount Park and only depart when it is immediately required.
"It will mean that our home men’s games move away from the famous Friday nights as the floodlights will be removed later this year and the Tramway End terrace, erected in 1928, demolished. Our home game on October 23rd will therefore be the last game under the Dalymount lights.
"Exact kick-off days/times for both our men’s and women’s teams are TBC.
"The planned completion date of the stadium still envisages Bohs to be back in Dalymount Park for the start of the 2029 season.
"Finally, Bohemian FC can confirm that Bohs will play in more than one venue in the remainder of the 2027 season and in 2028 for men's games.
"An information meeting for club members to discuss next season's arrangements will be scheduled in the near future."
