RTÉ to strip back coverage of Ireland v Israel fixtures

RTÉ has confirmed it will provide stripped back coverage that will meet its contractual obligations to broadcast the two UEFA Nations League fixtures between the Republic of Ireland and Israel.

Ireland are scheduled to face Israel in Debrecen in Hungary on 27 September for the 'away' tie, before the return 'home' fixture on 4 October in Backa Topola, Serbia.

RTÉ have contractual broadcasting obligations to cover the games, however there will be no studio presentation, while commentary will be taken from the international feed and will not be provided by an RTÉ commentator.

A minimal technical team will be deployed by RTÉ to ensure the broadcast goes ahead and there will be no studio punditry.

RTÉ has not taken advertising or sponsorship around either game.

There will be news coverage of the games and the wider events surrounding them.
