Giants-Patriots scuffle breaks out after Jaxson Dart sent flying in wild MNF start

· New York Post

The Giants aren’t letting anyone take liberties with Jaxson Dart.

Patriots linebacker Christian Elliss laid a legal, heavy shoulder-to-shoulder hit on the rookie Giants QB in the first quarter of their Monday Night Football matchup in his return from a concussion.

Dart was scrambling toward the sideline when Elliss laid in him and sent him flying onto the sideline.

The QB quickly jumped back up, only to see chaos break out in front of him.

Giants tight end Theo Johnson quickly jumped in to confront Elliss and a short pushing-and-shoving match ensued as players from both teams converged on the scene.

Dart was no worse for wear, and Johnson was given an unnecessary roughness penalty for engaging with Elliss after the hit.
