Matthew Stafford’s wife Kelly takes shot at Seahawks’ AI usage: ‘Doesn’t feel right’

The NFC West is expected to be football’s most competitive division this season. And one NFC West star’s wife doesn’t seem to appreciate another team turning to AI for a competitive advantage.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald made waves when he told The Athletic that he believes AI tools like Copilot will become a key part of the team’s preparation strategy, and that he believes it can become a “competitive advantage” for them.

The article added that Seattle is already “deeply integrating” AI tools into their day-to-day operations, including running game models and sifting through film at a rate much quicker than any coach could.

Los Angeles Rams star quarterback Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly, clearly did not agree with this strategy.

She made a post to her Instagram that featured a graphic about the Seahawks “deeply” using AI and wrote, “I’m sure everyone is doing this or maybe not, I don’t know… but it just doesn’t feel right.”

Kelly Stafford added a poll that wrote, “Does AI scare you?” With “Yes” and “No” as options.

She also commented on the Bleacher Report graphic she reposted to her story and wrote, “I feel like this is teaching them to take over coaching jobs…?”

Kelly Stafford is within her rights to feel scared by Seattle’s AI usage.

Her husband may be even more scared about how this AI usage will help the defending Super Bowl champions’ game plan against him and Los Angeles when the two teams meet on Christmas Day and then again in Week 18.

The Seahawks beat the Rams in the NFC Championship game last year and the two teams are expected to be among the best teams in the NFL again this season.

The Seahawks opened 2026 with a 13-10 victory in a Super Bowl rematch against the Patriots, while the Rams fell 27-7 to the 49ers in Australia.
