Raiders’ Maxx Crosby leaves team building after being shut down ahead of Giants clash in shocker

The Raiders clearly aren’t putting their best foot forward with the No. 1 pick on the line, and Maxx Crosby isn’t happy about it.

Las Vegas told the star edge-rusher that it plans on shutting him down for the final two games of the season due to the knee injury he has been battling most of the season, NFL Insider Jay Glazer reported.

Crosby, per the report, vehemently disagreed with the decision and left the building, which could raise questions about his future with the Raiders.

They host the Giants on Sunday — both teams are 2-13, though the Giants right now would own the top overall pick in the draft due to a tiebreaker.

Sunday’s game will have major ramifications on who ends up with that top pick, but Crosby earlier this week made it clear of what he thought of fans wanting the Raiders to lose.

“I don’t give a s–t about the pick, to be honest,” Crosby said. “I don’t play for that. That’s not my job. My job is to be the best defensive end in the world. That’s what I focus on every day. And being a great leader, and being an influence and being that guy on a consistent basis for my team.”

Earlier this week, the Raiders also shut down stud tight end Brock Bowers, who had been battling a knee injury but was playing through it like Crosby, and placed him on injured reserve.
