The promising fantasy football solutions to help the unexpected Brock Bowers dilemma

You don’t play dozens of fantasy football leagues every season over a span of multiple decades without learning a few things along the way. 

Like, never draft a kicker early. Don’t put a player name in your team name until after the draft, lest someone else pick that player. Never trust an Arthur Blank-coached running back corps. 

And back up all your position players. Before some of you grab your pitchforks or cast stones our way, the Madman will offer some exceptions: 1) if there are no reasonable circumstances in which you would ever bench that player, and 2) that player is either a quarterback or tight end. 

Granted, these are more guidelines than rules, but based on those criteria, there are two players we didn’t actively seek to back up during drafts: Josh Allen and Brock Bowers.
