Fantasy football winter has arrived for these Chiefs
· New York Post“Game of Thrones” was such a great show. All the way until … well, if you watched it, you know. If you didn’t, we don’t want to spoil it, but it was tragic. Not really in the Shakespearean sense, but in a completely different way.
The fall was swift and jarring. Maybe there were subtle hints at an impending collapse, but by no means was there any reason to believe it would get as bad as it got in its eighth and final season.
Well, Season 8 is here for the Kansas City Chiefs. There was no “winter is coming” suspense. They were great. Now they’re not. At least not right now with the season-ending knee injury to Patrick Mahomes in a defeat that sealed the end of the Chiefs’ 10-year run as a playoff mainstay — not to mention annual Super Bowl contenders and three-time champions.
What is left on the Chiefs roster is largely a fantasy wasteland. And what sliver of hope fantasy managers might have been able to cling to has withered away in the days since.
