The four things we learned from Jets’ Week 7 loss: It’ll only get worse if they fire Aaron Glenn now
· New York PostThe Jets suffered an embarrassing 28-25 loss to the previously winless Dolphins on Sunday. Here are some thoughts and observations from the game:
1. Jets fans are out for blood after this loss, and I get it. But firing Aaron Glenn right now would accomplish nothing except making you feel better for a few days. I promise you the Jets are not suddenly going to look much better without Glenn and you’ll be frustrated by the interim coach (think Jeff Ulbrich in 2024).

Woody Johnson needs to let Glenn finish out this season and make his evaluation then. At the moment, it feels like Glenn is a goner but there are 10 games left and maybe he finds a way to turn things around.
Firing him now would just send the season into a total downward spiral. I get that you’d argue it already is in one but I think the chance of the Jets rallying to win more games is better with Glenn. I’m not sure people appreciate how significant a figure the head coach is in a football organization. He is the heart of the team. It is different in other sports.
