Boxing fans could not watch Netflix

Netflix stream crashes during Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul with fans angry amid major issues

by · Wales Online

Boxing enthusiasts were left disgruntled as Netflix encountered difficulties streaming the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul boxing match. The streaming service was making its first foray into live combat sports, but fans had trouble watching the undercard before the main event.

Viewers flooded social media with complaints about issues ranging from buffering to the service crashing entirely. One fan expressed: "If Netflix doesn't fix this buffering issue, this will go down as one of the biggest fails in all of tv/streaming history. Another added: " Another added: "First time I've sat down to watch boxing on forever and Netflix keeps freezing up and buffering...."

A user queried: "Is Netflix down for everybody? ? ? ? Literally my stuff will not load."

Another frustrated viewer asked: "Hey, is anyone else having server and bandwidth issues with Netflix? Pixels have ramped down to 1995 TV level and it keeps buffering..." Another stated: "Netflix has crashed! We have been buffering at 25 per cent for 10 minutes and now frozen. It's not my network. We are pushing 250 mbs."

Others commented: "Mine just stopped. Not having high hopes for seeing the main bout" and "Hundred thousand people watching this are having the exact same problem".

Netflix announced their unexpected entry into the boxing business in March when Tyson's fight with Paul was first unveiled.

Tyson had to delay their clash by four months after an inflamed ulcer struck him on a plane journey from Miami to Los Angeles, causing him to collapse in the bathroom and cough up blood. Thankfully, he bounced back and rescheduled his first fight in four years - and his first professional match in nearly two decades - to face YouTuber Paul this evening.

Despite being 31 years Tyson's junior, fans and commentators believe Tyson can turn back time and emerge victorious. Earlier in the event, Netflix encountered technical glitches with its audio when Evander Holyfield, appearing alongside Lennox Lewis in the studio, failed to hear questions from host Kate Scott, who ended up apologising: "Evander, I apologise," she said.

"I'm so sorry about the sound. Lennox, thank you for helping us out with the interview. We appreciate you. Good to see you tonight. Good to see both of you champions with us tonight."
