Liverpool and Wolves will have to manage with some players on the sidelines for their Premier League clash today. The Reds will host Wolves at Anfield in their first match after Christmas as they look to get another three points on the board.
However, Liverpool will be without Alexander Isak after the striker suffered an ankle injury with a fibula fracture last week.
Isak has undergone surgery and is expected to be on the sidelines for several months, but Reds boss Arne Slot stated that he hopes to have the Sweden international back before the end of the season.
"It's going to be a long injury, for a couple of months, so that's a big, big disappointment for him and, of course, also for us," Slot said.
"I'm confident he can (play a part in back end of season)."
There are also doubts over the fitness of Conor Bradley and Cody Gakpo, while Joe Gomez and Wataru Endo have already been ruled out and Giovanni Leoni is a long-term absentee.
Mohamed Salah is also unavailable for Liverpool as he features for Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations. Dominik Szoboszlai is also ruled out due to suspension.
"Conor [Bradley] will be 50-50, he's not training with us today or tomorrow, so Friday we will see where he exactly is and whether he can be in the squad for the weekend," Slot said.
"Joe [Gomez] won't be available, Wata [Endo] won't be available. Cody [Gakpo]? Bit similar to Conor."
