Arne Slot is in the midst of a busy festive fixture calendar, but he has finally found a way to get Liverpool into some decent form in the Premier League. After a rocky few months, the Reds are unbeaten in the league since late November, and while performances are still not at their convincing best, they are finding a way to get over the line.
With results going their way, Liverpool are now back into the top four and firmly in contention to earn a Champions League place for next season. The latest victory came over Wolves, who are bottom of the league, where goals from Ryan Gravenberch and Florian Wirtz were enough to win 2-1.
In that game, Slot managed to welcome back some key stars, as Conor Bradley and Cody Gakpo returned to the squad after their respective injuries.
Their reintroduction will help Liverpool over this busy period, one which they will be without Mohamed Salah for, due to his involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations, while Dominik Szoboszlai missed the last game through suspension, but will be available again.
There are still a few injury concerns for Slot to mull over, however, as his side now prepare for the quick turnaround to take on Leeds United - a side who caused them all sorts of problems earlier this month in a 3-3 draw at Elland Road.
So, with that said, here's a look at the latest Liverpool injury news ahead of their next big Premier League clash.
Alexander Isak - Ankle
Alexander Isak picked up a major injury blow after getting his leg caught by Micky van de Ven in Liverpool's win over Tottenham. The striker lasted just 11 minutes on the pitch, scoring for the side, but ultimately paying the price for his bravery in front of goal. The club-record signing is now set for a spell out of the side.
On his injury, Arne Slot said: "It's going to be a long injury. A couple of months. That's a big, big big disappointment for him and also for us. I'm confident he can (play a part in back end of season). It's been a really challenging and difficult period for him.
"You join a new club, he was very excited and you want to show immediately your qualities but that was simply impossible. If you haven't trained for two or three months at serious level, in this league you have to be on top of your game to impact a game of football.
"We knew it would take months. We knew it could take him time, that's why he's so unlucky he's now injured as we all saw with his goals versus West Ham and Tottenham he got closer to the player and player he was at Newcastle."
Possible return date: Spring 2026.

Joe Gomez has struggled with injuries throughout his long career at Liverpool so far. The defender picked up a muscle issue against Brighton earlier this month, though it is not thought to be a major problem.

Wataru Endo is another player who has been struggling with some small injuries here and there. The midfielder recently picked up an ankle problem, which has kept him out of action, though he may be nearing a return.

In a devastating blow early this season, young defender Giovanni Leoni picked up an ACL injury. It's the type of absence that can take upwards of nine months to return from, almost definitely ruling him out for the season, as targets get set for the following campaign.
On his injury, Arne Slot said: "He is not in a good place because he tore his ACL, which means he will be out around a year. Being so young and coming to a new country and playing so well in your first game, it's very hard to take the positives. But you try to look at that, and that is that he is still so young, and he has so many years still to go after he recovers."
Possible return date: Pre-season 2026.
