Purdue remained unbeaten with a 109-62 blowout of visiting Eastern Illinois on Friday afternoon. None of the Boilermaker starters played more than 23 minutes, with Daniel Jacobsen coming off the bench for 24 points, nine rebounds, and six blocked shots. Fletcher Loyer added 15 points, Trey Kaufman-Renn dropped 14 points, and Braden Smith dished out 10 assists while taking only four shots, scoring five points. Purdue won its only true road game thus far, beating then-No. 8 Alabama 87-80 in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 13.

Rutgers comes off a 1-2 showing at the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas last week, losing to then-No. 17 Tennessee 85-60 on Nov. 24 and dropping a 68-63 decision to Notre Dame on Nov. 25 before closing the event with an 80-65 victory over UNLV on Thanksgiving Day. Emmanuel Ogbole led the way against the Rebels with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocked shots, with Dylan Grant scoring 17 points and Darren Buchanan Jr. coming off the bench for 15. The Scarlet Knights are 4-1 at home, losing their last time out 67-54 to visiting Central Connecticut State on Nov. 21

Purdue has won five straight against Rutgers, including a two-game sweep last season that featured a 68-50 road victory on Jan. 9 and a 100-71 home win on March 4. The Boilermakers are 18-6 all-time against the Scarlet Knights.
