Gophers receive commit from Huskers transfer WR Malachi Coleman

by · The Fresno Bee

The Minnesota Golden Gophers have a new wide receiver for the 2025 season.

Malachi Coleman, who spent last season with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, announced he has committed to Minnesota after entering the transfer portal.

The former four-star recruit and top-60 2023 recruit was an immediate contributor for the Huskers in 2023, finishing with eight catches for 139 yards and a touchdown in 11 games.

He logged 335 total snaps his freshman year for the Huskers, also dealing with some injuries as the season went on. He only appeared in one game for Nebraska in 2024.

Coleman now joins Javon Tracy - previously of Miami (OH) and Logan Loya - previously of UCLA - as wide receiver transfers heading to Minnesota for the 2025 season. The Gophers will surely need others to step up after Daniel Jackson and Elijah Spencer are moving on from their collegiate playing days going forward.
