Tottenham Hotspur are now closing in on Roberto De Zerbi as the next manager.
Igor Tudor has been shown the door, and Tottenham are looking at a quality replacement. The 46-year-old Italian has been identified as the next manager of the club, and he is expected to sign a five-year contract with the North London outfit.
Apparently, Tottenham held talks with the Italian manager last week, and he wanted to wait until the summer before deciding on a move. However, Ben Jacobs has now claimed that an agreement is close, and the Italian has performed a U-turn on his decision. The lucrative contract from Tottenham has changed his mind.
He is a quality manager, and Tottenham would do well to get the deal done. They need a top-quality manager to turn things around. They have had a disastrous season, and they are currently fighting for survival in the Premier League. A club of stature should be pushing for trophies and competing regularly in the UEFA Champions League.
The Italian has shown his quality in the Premier League with Brighton, helping them secure a top-six finish during his time with the Seagulls. There is no doubt that he has the quality to transform Tottenham. His attacking approach could be a good fit for the current players at the North London club. Appointing a quality manager like him will help them attract quality players in the summer as well.
They have been linked with multiple managers in the last few weeks, but it seems that they have now finalised the Italian as their next boss. He will be expected to make an immediate impact and help Tottenham secure Premier League safety.
