Sunderland attacker Dan Neil has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.
The 23-year-old attacker has struggled for regular opportunities at Sunderland this season and it would be ideal for him to move on so that he can play more often.
According to a report via Sport Witness, Italian outfit AS Roma are prepared to provide him with an exit route in January. Sunderland would be open to cashing in on the player if there is a suitable offer on the table.
Sunderland ready to sell Dan Neil
The 23-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season and Sunderland do not want to lose him on a free transfer.
It is clear that he has fallen down the pecking order at the club and he is no longer an important player for them. It would make sense for him to move on and join a club where he will get regular opportunities.
The opportunity to play for Roma will be exciting for him. They are one of the biggest clubs in Italy and they could provide him with a competitive platform.
He will be available for a nominal fee in January and it is no surprise that the Italian outfit is keen on him. It will be interesting to see if they come forward with an official proposal during the January window.

Neil did well last season
Neil was an important player for Sunderland in the Championship last season and he even captained them. However, he has lost prominence at the Premier League club. He will be seeking to get his career back on track with regular football and the move to Italy could be ideal for him.
Sunderland have done quite well in the Premier League since promotion and they will be aiming for a place in the top half this season. It would make sense for them to get rid of their unwanted players in January and bring in further additions so that they can improve during the second half of the season.
There is no doubt that he was an important player for the club last season, but it seems that Sunderland have outgrown him and they are looking to bring in better players now.
