Matheus Cunha's telling seven-word message to Arsenal ahead of January transfer window

by · Birmingham Live

Matheus Cunha has sent a resounding message to clubs eyeing his skills, such as Arsenal, following his pivotal performance that led Wolves to a 2-0 triumph over Manchester United. The Brazilian ace maintained his impressive form on Boxing Day, contributing directly to two goals.

Following Bruno Fernandes' sending off and Jorgen Strand Larsen's goal being ruled out, Cunha bagged a goal from an unusual corner play. Later on, he unselfishly assisted Hwang Hee-chan to seal the win for manager Ruben Amorim's team.

With various teams showing interest in the 25 year old, and the Gunners rumoured to be amongst them, Cunha voiced his dedication to Wolves post-match, saying: "I feel so happy to be here."

Reflecting on Wolves' splendid victory over United, which elevated them to 17th place and clear of the relegation threat, he shared with Amazon Prime Sport: "It was my first time [scoring from a corner]. We train it a lot. He said to me kick [towards] the goal and we try to manage the goalkeeper. Yes, I was shooting. In the first half we did one and he saved but the second one went in and we scored a goal."

Cunha expressed his joy at being part of the team's success, saying: "I feel so happy to be here. That's me as a leader of the team and then I give it to Channy [Hwang Hee-chan.] I think it's first goal in the Premier League [this season] and he says every single day, 'pass to me please'. So today I'm so happy because I got the chance to pass to him and he scored.", reports the Mirror.

The Gunners have reportedly shown interest in Cunha, with The Athletic citing them as long-term admirers. Although not currently a priority, his impressive form could see him climb their wish-list, especially with Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling sidelined by injuries.
