50th Test ends in defeat, but Jasper proud of Bok fightback
by Craig Taylor · KickOffSpringbok No 8 Jasper Wiese has reflected on South Africa’s 42-38 loss to the Wallabies on Sunday in Perth.
The Boks were dead and buried with 15 minutes to go before four Australian yellow cards handed them a lifeline.

They fought back valiantly, but just ran out of time while looking for a final try that would have given them a dramatic victory.
Speaking after the match, Wiese said the comeback showed the tremendous character that Rassie Erasmus’ charges have.
“Been 25 points down and losing the game with 4 points in a matter of 10 minutes, it just shows what this group is about,” Wiese said.
“Obviously, we were chasing the game a bit at the end there, but I think one or two more minutes… [but] ‘if’ it's always a dangerous thing.
“But yeah, just proud of the boys, proud of the fight they showed. And again, just such a special team, but I think the last 15 minutes showed it.”

Wiese reflected on his 50th Test for the Springboks and credited his teammates for helping him reach the milestone.
“I think if you represent your country once, it's a massive privilege, but to be able to do it 50 times, it's no credit to myself… I think this is an unbelievable group and just a privilege to have done it with them,” Wiese said.
The Springboks now have a break until November, when the Nations Championship gets underway.
