Mamelodi Sundows welcome AS FAR Rabat to Loftus Versfeld for the first leg of the CAF Champions League, with coach Alexandre Santos sending a clear message ahead of the clash.

The Moroccans faced Sundowns during the 2024/25 group stage phase of the competition, although both matches ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Portuguese tactician has talked up his side's team spirit and the ability.

“The final is not just one match, but two,” Santos told the media, as per CAFOnline.

“The Royal Army always plays to win. We know we are facing one of the most important clubs on the continent over the last decade, but we came here believing in ourselves and in our ability.”

“The most important thing is to show team spirit and the mental strength required for this type of major event.

“Our group is strong, united and fully prepared for this challenge.”

Santos added the final will be decided over two legs, although they are looking to get a favourable result in Pretoria.

“Victory is decided over two matches. We need to control our focus, our discipline and our collective strength because small details will make the difference — small details here, and others in Rabat.”

He continued, “No coach can speak about AS FAR without recalling the historical importance of this prestigious club. It was the first Moroccan club to win the African title in 1985.”
