Cardoso back at work, his future at Sundowns remains uncertain

KickOff.com broke the news on New Year’s Eve that Sundowns and former coach Pitso Mosimane are keen on burying the hatchet and mending the differences with a well-placed source explaining to this publication what is happening behind the scenes at Chloorkop.
According to our sources, Mosimane is believed to be on Sundowns’ radar and viewed as a possible replacement for Cardoso, should they part ways in the future.

A second source highlighted that the Portuguese coach was back at Chloorkop, but his future with the Brazilians remains uncertain.
“Sundowns have returned to training. Coach Cardoso, Steve Komphela, and other members of the technical team were at training,” said the source.
“There is a lot that is going on behind the scenes. There is a chance that Pitso Mosimane could work with Mamelodi Sundowns again,” he added.
Several attempts to get hold of the former Bafana Bafana coach’s wife and agent, Moira Mosimane, proved futile again, after also failing to respond to our text messages.
“Jingles” was in charge of Mamelodi Sundowns between 2012 and 2020, before joining Al Ahly in Egypt. He proved his pedigree during his time in Cairo, clinching multiple trophies on the continent and domestically.
The former Jomo Cosmos striker remains the most decorated coach on the African continent, having won the CAF Champions League twice with two different teams. He was conferred with the honorary degree by the University of Johannesburg due to his successful football career.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns are also reported to be trying to lure back Performance Analyst Tinashe-Shingai Makundatsama back to the team in the New Year.
KickOff has reached out to Mamelodi Sundowns for comment, but no response was received at the time of publishing.
